Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences theory is parallel to the Biblical concept of different gifts in Romans 12: 6-8, Ephesians 4:10-13 and 1 Corinthians 12: 4-12.  An exegetical study of the various verses is compared to the MI theory of Howard Gardner to demonstrate the parallelism of MI to DG. The first part of the research involved the selection of the biblical passages that are parallel to the multiple intelligence’s theory. The passages were then subjected to an exegetical study which investigated the background or context of the passage, its meaning and the application in the contemporary setting. The result of the exegesis led to a clear relationship between the multiple intelligences theory to the biblical concept of different gifts. The MI theory and the DG concept are parallel in many respects. Both authors were dealing with a misconception about intelligence/gift during their time and were trying to help alleviate the situation. They indicated that intelligence or gift is not necessarily a single entity but diverse and should be approach as such. They however, approached the subject matter from different perspectives. Gardner approached it from a psychological and biological perspective, while the Paul approached it from a religious and spiritual perspective. On the whole they were dealing with the same issue. The similarities are substantial, while the differences are superficial and complimentary of one another.
